Reuters Pictures Beijing Office is looking for an intern to join our team from April to September 2010. The internship can be extended based on the end-period appraisal. There will be a monthly payment which is enough to cover basic expenses including meals and transportations.
Position Summary as follows
Prepares and summarizes daily main news sourcing from local Chinese media.
Translates Chinese letters, documents etc. into English, if so required.
Coordinates news events and make registrations by facsimile, email, phone, etc.
Assists and guide foreign photographers to cover the news event.
Work with other editors and assistants to ensure efficient and effective operation of the Reuters Pictures Beijing Team as a whole.
Internship period must have a validity of minimum 6 months
Full-time job during the week days and flexible weekend operation required
Qualifications
University student with News or Photography related major required.
Demonstrates excellent communication and relationship building skills - proficient in both English and Chinese (both speaking and writing).
Demonstrates ability to manage change, and adapt work style and processes according to the dynamic nature of the organization.
Understanding of cultural differences.
Manages multiple tasks in an environment of tight deadlines and high quality standards.
Knowledge of Microsoft Applications: Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop/Premier is preferred.
